Why We Need Your Information?

Central Bedfordshire Council will use the information collected on this form to investigate your complaint including contacting you for further information and with updates.

Who do we share your information with?

We will normally ask for your consent to share information with any third parties in order for us to complete our investigation.

We may also share your personal information without consent where it is lawful for us to do so. This may include, for example, sharing;

  • in order to find and stop crime and fraud
  • if there are serious risks to the public, our staff or to other professionals
  • to protect a child or vulnerable adults

You should also be aware that if our investigation leads to a prosecution the information you supply to us may need to be used as evidence in open court. This means that it will be made public and may be reported in the press as well as being disclosed to the defence.


How the law allows us to use your personal information

Central Bedfordshire Council will process your information the basis that it is necessary for us to fulfil our statutory duties under the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2005.

We no not normally ask for ‘Special category data’ (information which reveals your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, trade union membership, religious or philosophical beliefs, health or sexual orientation or genetic or biometric data) however if any such information is included in your complaint this will be processed on the basis that it is  processed on the basis that is necessary for statutory and government purposes.

In some cases information may be shared for other reasons, such as to protect the vital interests of an individual.

How long will information be kept?

Information we retained for 6 years from date of case closure.
