Central Bedfordshire stands with the people of Ukraine
For over 2 years, the conflict in Ukraine has affected countless lives and communities. This has been, and remains, a difficult time for the people of Ukraine, and we continue to stand with them in solidarity.
On 19 February 2024 the UK government changed some of the rules behind the Homes for Ukraine visa scheme. These included the extension of visas for those guests already in the country by a further 18 months which can be applied for during the last 3 months of their existing visa.
The government has also announced the closure of the Friend and Family Scheme from the same date and the withdrawal of guests eligibility to be sponsors even after remaining in the UK for 6 months.
These pages provide advice to sponsors and Ukrainian guests on topics including the Homes for Ukraine scheme, financial support, education and training and health advice. Our Homes for Ukraine Data Hub Team are also on hand to offer support.
