Garden waste collections restart next week
Monday, 20 February 2023
With spring just around the corner, we will restart our garden waste collection service from Monday 27 February, on residents’ next normal recycling collection day.
We will collect either the two Council-issued garden waste bags or one bin per household.
A bin tag reminding residents of their garden waste collections will be attached to bins prior to the first collection. For more information about garden waste collection visit here or our social media accounts.
It is important that residents place the right waste in their garden waste bin or bags to ensure collections crews can empty them.

Excess garden waste
If you have too much garden waste to fit in your bin or bags, residents are urged to avoid placing in this in their black/general waste bins. Instead, residents with enough space in their gardens are encouraged to home compost and can access tips and advice on our website.
Alternatively, additional garden waste can be taken to one of our Household Waste Recycling Centres. They are open seven days a week from 9am-5pm. Simply turn up with identification to confirm you are a Central Bedfordshire resident. Permits are required for certain vehicles and some types of waste. For more details visit Tidy Tips.
