How to apply

A panel of officers from our SEND service and school organisation team, together with head teachers from a special and mainstream school, meet in April, June, October and January to assess applications and set the programme. In addition, schools are invited to submit applications for specialised equipment only by the end of February 2025, for consideration Out of Panel (please note the timeframe available before the end of the financial year does not allow for building improvement/adaptation applications to be accepted).

All applications must be submitted with a copy of the school’s accessibility plan and, where relevant, an occupational therapist report, or medical report clearly recommending the equipment. Applications received without these documents will be rejected and returned as incomplete and the school will need to re-apply.

Email your completed application form to school.organisation@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk by Friday, 28 February 2024.

Equipment for pupils with hearing and sight impairments must be submitted through the HI and VI Teams as below:

All hearing equipment applications must be submitted through the Head of HI Service, email: hearingteam@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk for more information.

All sight equipment applications must be submitted through the Specialist Resource Officer/Technician email: visualteam@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk for more information.
