How to get active outdoors
Walking
We all know that walking is good for you, after all it’s good for your heart, your head and your wallet as well as being for anyone of any age and fitness level.
You’ll find plenty of opportunities to get walking in Central Bedfordshire to get you and your family moving more.
Getting started
It is recommended that people exercise for at least 30 minutes a day but if you are new to walking you might want to try starting with 10 minutes and build up when you feel more comfortable.
Make sure you have suitable footwear, clothing that is comfortable and check the weather! Waterproofs for the good old English weather but on the odd occasion we get the sun, make sure you have sun protection and plenty of water.
Wellbeing walks
Wellbeing walks are regular, led, walks which are free and open to all; although aimed particularly at people who are presently doing little or no exercise.

Outdoor exercise classes
We usually run a number of outdoor sessions, in line with government guidelines, to encourage and help people to get fit and active. These are for all abilities, as the exercise can be modified by the instructor. All sessions are free of charge.
