After you apply to volunteer in our libraries
Here's what'll happen after you've applied to volunteer with us.
Step 1: informal interview
We'll ask you to pop in for a chat about your skills and interests to make sure we find the right role for you. We'll also check if we need to make any reasonable adjustments, as we want to ensure you'll be happy and comfortable volunteering with us.
Step 2: references and safety
We'll ask for references at this stage from the referees on your application form. This bit can take a while, as we can't proceed until we get these back. If the role you've applied for is subject to a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, we'll get that sorted.
Step 3: offer time!
If we've matched you to a role, we'll send you:
- induction information, including when you'll start
- who you'll be working with
- our volunteer handbook
