Housing data privacy statement
Data Protection
The privacy of your personal information is important to us, and we have produced a privacy statement, explaining why we process your information and what your rights are. However, there are occasions where we have to share information with other organisations when it is necessary to fulfil a contract, or when we are legally required to do so.

Our housing team shares information with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government on lettings (CORE) and homelessness approaches (H-CLIC).
CORE
We take part in the Continuous Recording of Lettings and Sales in Social Housing in England, otherwise known as CORE, for all new tenancies and have done so since 2004, as South Bedfordshire District Council. CORE provides the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) with details of all new lettings, including personal information for research and statistical purposes.
The MHCLG has produced two Privacy Notices for your information.
Privacy Notice – All tenants (PDF 229.5KB)
Privacy Notice – New tenants (PDF 175.6KB)
Any concerns about the use of your personal data in CORE should be addressed to: dataprotection@communities.gov.uk
Homelessness Approaches (H-CLIC)
We're required to submit a return to the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) once a quarter, regarding all households that have approached us because they are homeless or threatened with homelessness, to enable them to understand what causes homelessness and how our services meet their needs. This return includes personal information, such as name, date of birth, last known address, and national insurance number, to help combine this with information from other agencies.
The MHCLG has produced a privacy notice for your information.
