Consultation: Local Validation Checklist Guide

Local Validation Checklist Guide consultation

Consultation closes: 10am on Friday 13 September 2024
Consultation opened: Monday 29 July 2024

The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) sets out that local planning authorities should publish a local validation list for planning applications and review it frequently. The National Planning Practice Guidance (NPPG) states that a local validation list should be reviewed at least every 2 years.

We have updated our planning validation checklists, produced a Validation Guide, and are consulting on this. Local validation requirements set out the information required when submitting your planning application in Central Bedfordshire.

A validation list has two components:

  • the national requirements, such as the application form, fee and certificates
  • specific local requirements are known as the ‘Local List’

We ask you to let us know your thoughts and opinions on our Local Validation Guide and your views on the checklists you must complete when submitting a planning application.

We want your comments on our revised Validation Guide.
