Results: Adult Carers Strategy 2022 to 2027 consultation
The consultation on the draft Adult Carers Strategy was published on our website on 25 November 2021 with the consultation running to 2 March 2022. Also within this time, the draft strategy was considered at the Social Care Health and Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 24 January 2022. As a result of the consultation with both the public and the committee, the following changes were made to the strategy and were agreed at our Executive Committee's meeting on 7 June 2022:
- an additional priority of “A Life After Caring” was added to reflect the needs of those carers whose caring role changes or ends
- information is provided within the strategy on the voluntary and community sector services commissioned by us which are available to support carers and those they care for
An action plan and timeline are now being developed with key milestones to ensure the delivery of the strategy. This strategy will be overseen by a carers board, which will include representatives from:
- Central Bedfordshire Council
- Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group
- Carers in Bedfordshire
- Healthwatch Central Bedfordshire
