Community energy champions

Energy champions

We are working in partnership with local community energy groups Buzz Energy, Greensand Community Energy and Rivel Ivel Community Energy. These groups created the Central Bedfordshire Community Energy Network and are working together to provide energy efficiency and retrofit advice to Central Bedfordshire’s residents.

These new community energy groups have trained energy champions that can provide independent individual household advice on how to make homes warmer, healthier, and cut energy bills and can be booked for an event or group session in the community.

They can offer:

  • advice on energy – how to heat your home and save money
  • advice on fixing causes of heat loss in your home and tackling problems with damp and mould
  • advice on more energy efficient habits around the home
  • help with how to read your meter, including smart meters
  • help with accessing other support, such as emergency heating, government subsidies or grants
  • installation of small energy efficiency measures such as draft excluders, radiator foils and LED bulbs
  • advice on scam awareness and debt
  • access to a thermo-digital camera

There is no cost for this service.
