Housing sustainability funding – homeowners

Sustainability funding for homeowners

SuperHomes: Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire is a project delivered by the National Energy Foundation that is operating in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire only. It helps homeowners understand how they can maximise the energy efficiency of their home to achieve greater comfort, cost savings and a reduced carbon footprint.

For a limited time, it's offering eligible homeowners a free home survey, conducted by a qualified retrofit coordinator, followed by a free bespoke home energy retrofit options plan, worth £250. This plan will provide independent tailored advice and help identify the measures you could take to make your home as energy efficient as possible, including estimated installation costs, and your potential energy bill and carbon savings, post-retrofit.

This service is currently only available to homeowners who live in Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire, and is prioritising customers who fall into 1 of the below categories.

Category 1: Homes that are more difficult to retrofit with energy efficiency and clean heating measures

This may because of one of the following reasons:

  • age
  • construction type
  • location
  • heritage value
  • existing level of insulation

Examples include:

  • listed buildings
  • homes in a conservation area
  • traditional buildings
  • terraced homes
  • homes that are especially poorly insulated

Category 2: Consumers who are more difficult to provide with energy efficiency and clean heating advice, whether for social, economic, cultural, or geographical reasons

Examples include people who:

  • are unable to access the internet
  • have additional communication requirements
  • are in fuel poverty
  • cannot get appropriate advice from an energy supplier

If you don’t fall into one of the above categories, or if you are unsure whether your situation falls into one of the above categories, SuperHomes may still be able to help you.
