Virtual School continues to support young people who are children in care or care leavers until the end of the year in which they turn 18 (Year 13). We are here to advise and support our children in care and care leavers who are moving from statutory school age on their continued journey towards further education, training and employment.
Full-time education in further education (post 16) is less than at school. It averages out at around 12-16 hours per week. Young people in full time education in Year 12 and 13 will have down time, where they will be expected to complete some independent study but can also work part-time.
