If we don't have a Local Plan, it leaves us open to unplanned development (often referred to as speculative development), this means:
- we would have less control over where development happens and when it happens
- we could end up with more homes than we're planning for in locations that we have not chosen
- we have less control over supporting facilities like roads, schools and other services
