Suspected suicide or unexpected death guidance

Suspected Pupil Suicide Community Action Plan (CAP)

The Suspected Pupil Suicide Community Action Plan (CAP) is activated in the event of a single, suspected suicide of a pupil attending a Central Bedfordshire school or college.

The CAP aims to co-ordinate support to the school/college community in the event of a suspected, pupil suicide and operates alongside the statutory Child Death Overview Process (CDOP).

Included in the supporting documents is the Central Bedfordshire School/College Guidance: Responding in the Event of a Suspected Pupil Suicide. This guidance aims to ensure that your school/college is prepared and can react within 48 hours to a suspected pupil suicide.
