The Central Bedfordshire SHEU Survey takes place every two years, across academic years, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12. SHEU Surveys have been completed in 2014, (an emotional wellbeing survey in 2015), 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023 (view latest survey results).
How we use the SHEU survey
The findings from the surveys provide important data and information, as to the developing trends and changing nature of the health and wellbeing needs of the local population of children and young people. They are used to inform and shape the commissioning and delivery of services and support, to improve outcomes for young people.
All schools and colleges taking part in the survey receive an individual report detailing their survey findings which will:
- inform the development of school policies, curriculum priorities and interventions in line with the things that matter most to young people
- provide evidence of good practice for Ofsted inspections
- inform a whole school approach to the health and wellbeing of pupils, reducing absenteeism, and enabling children and young people to reach their full academic potential
