Repaying a deferred payment
You can have a deferred payment agreement for the full length of your stay in a care home and pay it back out of your estate, following your death.
The executor of your estate should arrange repayment of the money owed to us, by:
- putting your home up for sale
- or by arranging for another person, such as your heir, to pay
This is due within 90 days. If we receive the money from another source, your instructions will decide what happens to the property e.g. instructions from a will.
We may enter into legal proceedings to claim the money if it is not received within 90 days.
