Pitstone windmill is one of the oldest post mills in Britain. The mill ground flour for the local village for almost three hundred years until a freak storm in the early 1900s left it damaged beyond economic repair. The mill has been
faithfully restored by a dedicated team of local volunteers. Today you can explore both the inner and outer workings of the windmill and take in the spectacular views of the surrounding Chilterns countryside.
National Trust. The Mill is open to the public every Sunday afternoon during June, July and August.
Admission charges apply; free access to the grounds.
