Promoting independence and wellbeing

  • invest in prevention to support people to remain independent and delay the need for long-term care
  • deliver person-centred practice focusing on a person's strengths
  • joined-up working across health, social care, and the voluntary sector to improve services for the people who use them
  • provide suitable housing and enable people to live in the place that is right for them

Building resilient communities and keeping vulnerable people safe

  • capture the voice of people who use services to enable them to take an active part in designing services
  • work with unpaid carers to design support that helps them continue in their role
  • ensure that people who are vulnerable and at risk of abuse are protected from harm or mistreatment
  • provide information and advice that is accessible to all
  • commit to tackling inequalities and advancing equality of opportunity

Making best use of available resources

  • offer the use of assistive technology and invest in technology that integrates into real-life situations
  • encourage innovation and implement new ways of working
  • take a holistic approach which makes best use of available assets/resources
  • review and replace outdated facilities where necessary

Shaping and supporting the care market and workforce

  • work in partnership with care providers to deliver the best quality of care
  • ensure the care market has sufficient capacity and is sustainable
  • develop and support the Adult Social Care workforce
