What is carbon literacy?
Carbon literacy is an awareness of the carbon dioxide costs, greenhouse gas emissions, and impacts of everyday activities, and will give you the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community, and organisational basis.
We're a Carbon Literate Organisation
We are proud to be an official Carbon Literate Organisation. In 2023, we received our Bronze Carbon Literacy Organisational Award. We offer this training in-house to our staff and councillors. We are able to offer this course to our community leaders and our town and parish councils.
The accredited course introduces people to the science behind climate change and equips learners with information and tools to take action in their own lives and communities. It features sections on greenhouse gases and their relation to climate, how the climate is likely to change, and the potential effects this could have on our local area, the UK, and other parts of the world. Our knowledge on climate change is constantly evolving and the course features a collation of up-to-date information with links back to original sources.
