Assets of community value - Nuns Wood, Meppershall

The basis for the decision is that the application did not meet the relevant criteria as there is no evidence of community use of the wood.  This decision does not detract from the fact that the wood is a valuable remnant of ancient semi-natural woodland and all the ecological and conservation benefits this brings, however there are sufficient protections in place to safeguard the wood’s status and this is reflected in the proactive management by the owners which has been endorsed by the Forestry Commission
