Hate crime is any offence committed against person or property which is motivated by the offender's hatred of people because they are seen as being different.
Hate crime could be because of:
- race, ethnicity or nationality
- religion or belief
- sexuality
- gender or transgender
- disability, health or mental health
- age
This is a criminal offence. Report it to the police immediately by calling 999 or 101.
You must also let them know if you are concerned about your safety or that of someone else.
If you are a council tenant and/or the issue concerns our tenants, please let us know when you have reported this to the police by completing this e-form.
Please tell us the crime reference number so that we are aware of this problem and can work with the police if required.
