Fruit and vegetable scraps can be home-composted with garden waste to produce a rich soil conditioner. Please note, do not home compost meat or bones.
Alternatively, food waste can be placed in your brown food waste caddy. Find out what food waste we accept in your food waste bin. When collected in your brown caddy, your food waste can be turned into electricity and compost for farmers to use.
Tips for using your food waste bin:
- remember to remove all packaging before putting in your caddy
- please do not dispose of food waste in your dry recycling bin or black household waste bin
