Early years job vacancies - Nursery Assistant / Nurse, BEST Nursery Shefford

We require a new member of staff to cover for our increasing number of children after Christmas. Qualifications desirable but not essential for the right candidate.

We are a term time only setting and our opening hours are between 7.30am and 5.30pm. Candidates wanting to work full days or part time hours will be considered.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. To contribute to all areas of curriculum development.

2. To participate in and foster the learning experiences provided for children.

3. To be aware of and to value the children’s language/communications styles and promote the effective use of verbal and non-verbal language.

4. To ease the children’s transition from home to nursery, and to recognise the importance of creating positive links with parents.

5. To contribute in a team situation to the orderly maintenance of the established daily routine.

6. To assist with the children’s independence programmes eg toileting, personal hygiene, safety etc.

7. To contribute to the physical, social, emotional and intellectual wellbeing of all the children.

8. To develop and maintain professional relationships with children, colleagues, families, and other approved agencies where appropriate.

9. To respect the confidentiality of all information relating to children and their families.

10. To undertake training consistent with developing skills relevant to these duties and responsibilities.

11. To undertake any other duties of a similar level and responsibility as may be required from time to time.
