This National Nature Reserve is owned and managed in partnership with Central Bedfordshire Council, The Wildlife Trust, The Greensand Trust and Lafarge. The site contains several types of woodland from acid oak and birch woodland to calcareous mixed broadleaved woodland. Rides are important for wildflowers, mosses and liverworts. The wood contains very good examples of wood banks.
