Woodside Link Road
Woodside Link Road connects Houghton Regis and the industrial estates in Dunstable to junction 11a of the M1, north of the town.
A421: Junction 13 to Milton Keynes dualling
We're working with Milton Keynes Council to deliver the improved section of the A421, which provides strategic transport access between M1 Junction 13 and Central Milton Keynes and will improve east-west links passing through the city.

A5-M1 link road
The Highways England are responsible for building the A5-M1 link road. Central Bedfordshire Council has contributed £5m as well as brokering a £45m contribution to the scheme from local developers. The 2.9 mile dual carriageway will run east from the A5 north of Dunstable to the M1 at junction 11a.
M1-A6 link road
We are planning to deliver a new link road that would connect the A6 into the junction 11a of the M1. The proposed link road would be 4.4km long, and would create a northern bypass for Luton. The road would provide a strategically important east-west link to help improve access to Luton Airport, as well as Houghton Regis, Leighton Linslade, and Dunstable, whilst relieving the current pressures on local roads and communities.

East West Rail
East West Rail (link opens in new window) is a major project to establish a strategic railway connecting East Anglia with Central, Southern and Western England. The Western Section is now funded to re-introduce passenger and freight services between Bedford, Oxford, Milton Keynes and Aylesbury by upgrading existing and 'mothballed' rail track.
East Coast Mainline level crossing improvement programme
Network Rail has completed a series of feasibility studies to explore options for the closure of various level crossings on the East Coast Main Line (ECML) between London and Doncaster.
