Walk 4 Health programme

Healthy walkers

Walk 4 Health programmes run throughout Central Bedfordshire. Health walks are regular, led, walks which are free and open to all – although aimed particularly at people who are presently doing little or no exercise. Many of our walks end at cafes where people can have a coffee and a chat before they leave. Here are the walks led in Central Bedfordshire:

Beginner walks

Local beginner walks

We provide funding for Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity (BRCC) (link opens in new window) to manage the Walk 4 Health scheme, with the aim of encouraging everyone in Central Bedfordshire to get moving. These walks are are for beginners, so they are short walks of 30-45 minutes. Here are our current beginner walks:

  • Shefford Library meets at 10am every Thursday
  • Houghton Regis Library meets at 10am every Tuesday
  • Leighton Buzzard Library meets at 10am every Thursday
  • Upper Caldecote (Cricket Club) meets at 10am every Friday
