Activity 4 Health

The Activity 4 Health scheme is a 12 week subsidised exercise referral programme to help you start a healthy lifestyle.

Does the scheme apply to me?

You need to be referred from your GP and be 18+ years of age, the primary criteria for a referral are if you suffer from obesity, higher than normal blood pressure, hypertension, anxiety and depression but other underlying medical conditions can also qualify.

What is the referral pathway?

Once a referral has been received from your GP you will be contacted with details to book your first session at your local leisure centre. We aim to respond to all referrals within 7 days of receipt.

You then begin a 12-week exercise programme (attending at least 10 sessions over the 12 weeks) set by a qualified trainer at your local leisure centre; with pre and post programme analysis stats taken.

For more information please contact your local GP practice (link opens in new window).

Walking Football

Walking Football is a different version of the beautiful game, ideal for over 40s. Get active, meet new people and have fun! Whether you are rolling back the years, learning a new sport, trying to keep fit or simply want to get out during the week, Walking Football is your answer.

What is Walking Football?

Getting fit and healthy is the main benefit, but the social side of the game is what keeps people coming back. The sessions are focused on enjoyment, with an inevitable competitive edge to games. It may be a slightly slower version of the game to reduce the chance of injury, but make no mistake, it is far from mundane. Give Walking Football a chance and you’ll be hooked!
