Local Green Wheels

Biggleswade Green Wheel

The Biggleswade Green Wheel Masterplan 2013 (PDF 7.1MB) was prepared by Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity (BRCC) in partnership with us and Biggleswade Town Council. The Biggleswade Green Wheel was launched in 2015. It is fully open to walkers, and over 90% can also be used by cyclists.

Sandy Green Wheel

The Sandy Green Wheel Masterplan 2014 (PDF 1.1MB) was prepared by Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity (BRCC) in partnership with us and Sandy Town Council. It was formally approved and adopted in 2014. A number of parts are already in place. We are currently working with landowners to create additional sections. We plan to launch the paths for walkers in September 2018, followed by the full cycling route when possible.

Etonbury Green Wheel

The Etonbury Green Wheel Masterplan 2018 (PDF 3.3MB) was prepared by Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity (BRCC) in partnership with us, Arlesey and Stotfold Town Councils and Fairfield Parish Council. It was formally approved and adopted in June 2018. When fully created, the green wheel will cater for both walkers and cyclists, providing a continuous off road (where possible) circular route around the three communities. We are working with landowners to create and upgrade paths. So this green wheel will be launched in two stages - a walking route in 2019, followed by the full cycling route when possible.
