Definitive Map and Statement for Central Bedfordshire

The Definitive Map and Statement for Central Bedfordshire is our legal record of public rights of way. We correct any mistakes we find, or when you apply to us to do so, by making definitive map modification orders where appropriate. We are required by law to keep a record (the Section 53b Register) of every application to modify the Definitive Map and Statement we receive.

All definitive map modification order applications are now assessed for their impact on the local public rights of way network and are given a score based on a series of weighted criteria. This score will dictate the application’s position (ranking) within the current list of applications awaiting determination; with higher ranked applications being given a higher priority and processed earlier. A list of the criteria used is contained within the  DMMO Prioritisation (PDF 187.5KB) scheme.
