Council Tax - paying late
If we do not receive your Council Tax payments, or if you pay late, we will send you a reminder. We will only send you 2 reminders before we start court proceedings against you.
If you continue to pay late, we will send you:
- a final notice
- a summons
A final notice means that you will have lost your right to pay by monthly instalments and you have to pay all of the council tax for the financial year immediately.
If you do not pay the balance in full we will send you a summons for Liability Order hearing at the Magistrates Court. We will charge you £83 for the court costs.
